• Level 1 Volunteering

    Level 1 approval covers the majority of volunteering. With a Level 1 clearance, you must stay within eye and earshot of a school faculty member or teacher at all times.  There is no cost to the volunteer

    To become a Level 1 volunteer, you should:

    1. Sign up! Fill out and complete the District's Volunteer Application. Once you complete your application and background check through JDP, you will receive an email notification.
    2. Reach out! Once approved, you will be added to the school's approved volunteer list. If you are eager, reach out to schools so you can get started ASAP!
    3. Find the best fit! If you aren't sure where you want to volunteer or what you want to do, contact us in Community Relations to find a school that needs your specific skill set. You can call (941) 927-9000 ext. 31500 or e-mail CommunityRelations@sarasotacountyschools.net 
    4. Possibly get Level 2!  Level 2 approval allows you to work with students one on one.  Level 2 is required if you are chaperoning a group of students alone or on an overnight trip.  Please Click "Level 2 Volunteering" to learn more.
