Nestled among giant oak trees sits an elementary school known for its academic excellence. Wilkinson Elementary is an outstanding K-5 school dedicated to helping every child meet his or her potential. It is a neighborhood school of approximately seven hundred children, which draws most of its population from the surrounding area. It is located on Wilkinson Road just off Beneva Road between Bee Ridge and Proctor.

Wilkinson has been awarded the Florida Department of Educations Five Star School Award for the past nine school years, consecutively.  Five Star is awarded for demonstrating a strong commitment to enhance education through community involvement.

Wilkinson received the "20 Year Golden School Award" in August of 2001.  This was in recognition and appreciation for the leadership and support rendered to the School Volunteer program.

Principal's Welcome

Welcome to Wilkinson Elementary School.  We look forward to an exciting year of academic excellence for our students.  Our goal is to motivate and encourage them to achieve and develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

During the year, emphasis will placed on raising the academic achievement bar for our students by giving them the necessary tools to be successful in reading, writing, mathematics and science.

Our entire staff is committed to the students at Wilkinson Elementary School.  The focus is to reach and to teach each one of them.  Please take a moment to view our website to get to know who we are and know what we are about.  Our theme is, "Working Together Building Children's Futures".
