Mu Alpha Theta                                       

What is Mu Alpha Theta?

  • Mu Alpha Theta is a "national honor society" of mathematics students in high school and junior colleges.

Who Can Join?

  • To be a full member, you must complete Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II and have an unweighted G.P.A. of 3.0 in these courses.
  • ANYONE may become "associate members until they meet the requirements for full membership.

What Does Mu Alpha Theta Do?

  • Mu Alpha Theta Members are involved in the following activities:

    1. Provide free, after-school math tutoring for all VHS students.

    2. Participate in math competitions throughout the region.

    3. Offer scholarship to seniors who have been active in the club. ($500 last year!)

Dues:

  • Full Members (1st year) $8.00
  • Full Members (after 1st year) $5.00
  • Associate Members $5.00

    Meetings: Meetings are held once a month. You are required to attend at least three meetings,

participate in the fundraiser, and volunteer one hour of time and one of our projects. Interested in Joining? Listen
