Raymond Wilson, Principal

Dear VES Families,

Welcome to an exciting school year at Venice Elementary! We are thrilled to have your family as part of our school community and look forward to partnering with you to make this a wonderful year of learning, growth, and memorable experiences.

At Venice Elementary, we are proud of our tradition of excellence. Thanks to the dedication of our students, staff, families, and community, we continue to maintain our "A" school rating. This achievement reflects what is possible when we work together to support every child. Your involvement and encouragement play an important role in our continued success, and we are grateful to have you as part of our VES family.

One of the things that makes Venice Elementary so special is our strong tradition of family and community involvement. If you are interested in volunteering this year, we encourage you to complete the volunteer application available on the Sarasota County Schools District website. We truly value the time and talents our volunteers share with our students and staff.

For your planning purposes, our school office is open from 7:45 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. during the school year. Students may begin arriving for breakfast at 8:00 a.m., while all other students may enter campus and report directly to their classrooms beginning at 8:15 a.m. The instructional day begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. and concludes at 3:15 p.m.

Each day, your child will experience engaging, high-quality instruction aligned to Florida's academic standards while also enjoying daily recess and enriching special area classes. We are equally proud of our longstanding commitment to visual and performing arts, which continues to provide students with meaningful opportunities to explore their interests and talents.

We also encourage you to stay connected throughout the year. Follow Venice Elementary on Facebook and Instagram for school highlights and celebrations. Be sure to download the Sarasota County Schools app to access the Rooms feature, our communication platform that provides timely updates, classroom news, and important school information. We also encourage you to regularly check the FOCUS Parent Portal to stay informed about your child's academic progress.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Venice Elementary School. We are excited to partner with your family and look forward to a school year filled with learning, laughter, achievement, and lasting memories. If we can assist you in any way, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Welcome to the VES family. We cannot wait to see all that we will accomplish together!
