The following activities were made possible
through several Grant Programs
and their sponsors.

EDUCATION FOUNDATION GRANTS

Our school received a grant from Education Foundation Washington Mutual Building Blocks for Success Grant to purchase AIMS (Activities that integrate Mathematics and Science) lessons and manipulatives that encourage critical thinking in mathematics and science.

All teachers were given a full day of in-service training using the program and then transferred this knowledge to the classroom.    With this grant, we were able to purchase over 1,000 mathematics and science activities as well as several component labs and manuiplatives. Students have enjoyed this hands-on approach to learning and since most of the items are not consumable, this grant will assist our learning environment for many years. Thank You Education Foundation Washington Mutual Building Blocks for Success Grant for making this possible.

Each 3rd grade teacher wrote a grant this year.  The first grant was the Education Foundation Julius Brandenburg Legacy Building Blocks for Success Grant”

This grant was focused on the Economic change in World History and produced our adventure thtough Ancient Rome, Egypt and the Medieval Times.  Our exhibits were a wonderful success and the students truly enjoyed reading all the zany Time Warp Trio, books that describes those time periods. The whole school raved about their individual class tours and the 3rd grade totally enjoyed their visit to the SunTrust Bank!  Thank you very much ”Education Foundation Julius Brandenburg Legacy Building Blocks for Success Grant”  for making our activities possible!

Students worked hard to
create books for their
visit to the retirement home. Residents of Heron Run Retirement home listened to the stories the students did for them.

All of the residents
invited

the students back
for a return visit.
