About Us

Welcome to Emma E. Booker’s website! We are so delighted that you have taken the time to log on to get a brief “glimpse” into the many things that make our school such an amazing place for children and families. Emma E. Booker is proudly nestled within the Newtown Community of Sarasota, Florida. Emma E. Booker Elementary School as it appears today was built and opened its doors in the fall of 1989. Our school is named for an amazing African-American educator who started the first school for African-American children in Sarasota County in 1923. We also are also a vital part of the "Booker Nation!" Over the years, children, families and educators have taken pride in establishing "High Expectations for All!" which we have adopted as our school motto.
The information on this site is designed to give you a glimpse into the daily activities that our dedicated staff organizes for our exceptional student and parent body. The staff members at Emma E. Booker are sincerely committed to devoting our collective talents and expertise to deliver the finest education! We truly believe that students at Emma E. Booker will reach new heights within education as we all work toward meeting the needs of each child! Once again, I welcome you to our website, and I sincerely hope that you have the opportunity to come to our campus and enjoy the wonderful treasures that our students and staff have to offer each day.
