  • To begin the meeting, Shari VU welcomed our new business partner member, Paul Cettei, who represents Publix.
  • Next, Tammy Vowell reviewed the minutes from the meeting held February 14, which were approved unanimously.
  • Shari VU and Anita White updated SAC on the Five Star School notebook. They are currently working on it, and they hope to have it completed before spring break. They have collected sufficient evidence for all sections except for the requirement for Family Support Groups. Mrs. Baus will talk to Mr. Drummond about how his programs support the requirement.
  • Shari VU shared the PALS Orientation power point, explaining the rationale for having a SAC, and what SAC’s role is in our school.
  • Mrs. Baus informed SAC that Gulf Breeze will be the new distributor for our school uniforms. They are located on US 41, on the bypass, near the bowling alley. Prices will be the same in some cases, less in others. The owner is an active supporter of VES and a former Venice Elementary student!
  • The VES Vision presentation from grades 3 & 4 had to be tabled until the next meeting, due to FCAT testing.
  • The next meeting, which is scheduled for April 17, may have to be changed to a joint meeting with SDMT on another day, due to a district meeting Mrs. Baus has next week regarding the budget. Tammy Vowell will inform SAC members about the new date as soon as the information is available.
