The October meeting was held on
New business-
Mr. Bennett stated that he is working on adding more business partners. If you have any contacts, please get that information to him.
He is researching a connection with Barnes & Nobles to display some of our student publications – perhaps a Tuttle corner / or Tuttle night there as well.
Also, Mr. Bennett is looking into acquiring products like Tide from major companies– to have “freebies” available for our parent nights.
Mr. Bennett continued that he is aware of the parking frustrations out front. He has submitted a proposal for an additional parking lot in our field past the school. We hope to kill the grass have a crushed shell parking area.
The committee discussed the upcoming school climate survey. Mr. Bennett stated that we could use the district version or write our own. The point was raised that some of the district questions are redundant. Perhaps we would like to add questions more pertinent for our school situation. Mr. Bennett was going to get us all a copy of the district survey – and we will look into altering it at the next meeting. We also asked to see the results of this survey – not available in the past. The staff and parent survey needs to be completed by January.
Mr. Bennett has planned a parent night for October 30th to decorate pumpkins. Flyers were sent home with the pre-K, K and 1st grade students. It will be a family night in the cafeteria. Parents are asked to bring a pumpkin and Mr. Bennett will provide the tools. PTO is providing the refreshments and cookies.
Mr. Bennett is continuing to build our volunteer pool. He shared some stories about people giving us a hand all over campus. If you have any additional names, please give them to him to call.
The fire inspector will be coming around on Wednesday. We are researching an additional exit door on the first floor –and placement of it.
Our next meeting is Nov, 18th
