Tuttle Elementary School
SAC
Minutes
May 22,
2003
The May SAC meeting was
held on May 22, 2003 at 4:00 p.m. in the administrative conference room. Attendance was checked and attached.
The meeting was called to
order by Liz Zieminski, chairman. Mrs.
Cohen informed the committee that she had been in contact with Wilma at the
Selby Library, and a tentative time and date had been set for the Bookmobile to
stop at Tuttle over the summer. At this point, the Bookmobile will be at Tuttle
on Thursdays at 3:30. Library cards
will be needed to check out books, and the Bookmobile should be able to supply
them. Mrs. Cohen will check on definite
dates and times and how long the Bookmobile will stay. A flyer will be sent home.
Mrs. Zieminski stated the
March of Dimes fundraiser was successful, and that $565 was raised. Ms. Styers’ class won the ice cream party at
Publix and Mrs. Devine’s class came in second with an ice cream party at
school.
Mrs. Kleer informed the
committee that the second grade swimming program at Arlington has been
canceled. The program is no longer
sponsored by the group she had been working with. Mrs. Cohen will check with the YMCA to see if they would be
interested in hosting the classes and will check on submitting a grant.
Mrs. Kleer also
questioned what would happen now that Mrs. Dubin has been chosen as the new
principal and Laurel/Nokomis. Mrs.
Cohen explained the interviewing procedures for Tuttle starting with the site
analysis. SAC would like the letter
setting forth the community meeting sent to the Business Partners.
SAC recruitment was
discussed. The committee decided to
hold the meetings next year at 3:00 instead of 4:00 hoping to get more parents
to attend right after dismissal. Child care
will be available. A form letter will
be sent home the 1st week of school asking for interested parties to
reply. The first meeting of the
2003-2004 school year will be August 19th at 3:00. Nominations and elections will be held at
that meeting.
Mrs. Zieminski thanked
all the members for their support and attendance this past year and hopes to
see them next year.
Respectfully submitted,
Michele Ralich
