Called to Order @ 3:50pm by Jaime Kisner

§  2008-09 Budget Presentation

 

ESE Questions :

1 on 1 aides 3 students & 2 aides, what now?

If ESE brings in so much money, why such a cut?

ESE kids still exist, formulas have been recalculated to address needs

 

Limited dialog for budget overall

Considerations to complete budget staffing:

Expect to turn budget in no later than Monday, April 28th

 

Consensus reached:  Unanimous approval reached to include consideration of above details.

 

§  Updates:

o   Student ID’s

          Testing phase in progress with select classes of children at TBES

          Logistics and challenges will be analyzed throughout the trial period.

          ID’s will be in place at day one of start of year working with this year’s picture database. All new students will receive on the spot picture ID’s with technology in the Registrar’s office

 

o   Dress Code Recommendations:

Scholarships

o   Verification of Free  & Reduced Lunch (Confidential)

o   Documented Administrative Intervention

o   Shirt Distribution Handled In House

 

Footware…

o   Close Toed & FULLY enclosed ONLY

o   Tied at ALL times

Length of Shorts, Skirts or Skorts

o   Must be to mid-thigh with  an inseam of 6 inches or more

“Last Day” of the Week

Pictures

o   Group Pictures Need to be in Uniforms

Style

o   No camo, plaid or alternative non-approved colors allowed -

Including socks

o   All layered clothing that shows must be in uniform colors

Vendors

o   Expand Availability & Reduce Prices  for Uniform Apparel

o   Pre Sales Offered Thru County Bid Winner In Spring

Donations

o   No Ripped, Tattered, Stained Clothing Accepted

Enforcement

o   Changing to Occur in Health Room at End of Each Day!

o   Personalized contact with family on repeat offenders

Field Trips

o   Dress in full uniform at all times

 

Consensus reached for dress code recommendations and adjustments made at this meeting. Approval: Unanimous.

o   Conference Participation Parameters

Dollars are finite, subcommittee led by Jaime & Joyce Kisner to come up with parameters to be adopted and published for equitable use of conference dollars for both instructional and classified.

 

o   Community of Caring

Toledo Blade has been designated as a “Community of Caring’ school.

      A civic-minded program in conjunction with Venice GC Community Fndtn.

      We are in Phase I

o   Training is required:

      Lead teacher/co-lead teachers

      ALL staff will need to attend training. 

o   Date needs to be secured within a few days.

o   Ballots will be sent to Staff to help choose the one day training.

o   Decisions for date should include all other factors occurring during the first week                   back.  Date will either be August 8th specifically or a date during the following             already fully scheduled week.
