The
meeting was called to order at 3:35 p.m. by Jeanne Medawar,
Chairperson.
ü Motion was made to accept
the minutes as published. Seconded, and
approved.
ü JoAnn Doane, Third Grade
Team Leader, demonstrated the new classroom instructional tool – ELMO.
ü Four ELMOs were purchased
with SAC dollars – approved at the October 18th meeting.
ü This device can be connected
to a video projector and laptop computer.
ü Teachers are using ELMO along
with “real materials” in classroom lessons for enhanced student instruction.
ü Use of these “school
improvement” items will help all teachers meet our student achievement goals.
ü
A summary of expenditures using the A+
School Recognition Dollars indicated an available balance of $17,662.68.
ü
A breakdown of expenditures using SAC
dollars shows a balance of $7,314.76 remaining in the school budget.
ü
On March 14, 2006
there will be a countywide special election for the continuation of the one-mil
property tax.
ü
It is important
to have staff and parents registered to vote by February 13th. Registration is also needed if you moved or
changed your name.
ü
Early voting is accepted
from February 27th to March 12th.
ü
Absentee Ballots
are available upon request by calling 861-8600.
ü
Staff may sign up
to “wave support signs” before 8:15 a.m. and after 3:15 p.m. Melissa will contact us with dates and
locations.
ü
The PTA has
scheduled a guest speaker from the Citizens
for Better Schools Committee to attend the February 3rd general
meeting to discuss the referendum campaign.
ü
Endorsement
Resolution and Commercial Property Sign Location forms are available along with
t-shirts and pins.
ü Newly designed student desks
and chairs have been ordered for our school.
ü Construction is “on
schedule” to open new building in January of 2007.
ü Color pallet board for
classrooms and cafeteria was presented.
ü
The next SAC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 21, 2006 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Main Office.
