SAC Meeting

Minutes

· Charles Brown opened meeting

· Reviewed minutes from last meeting, November

· Motion to approve/ second.

· 1340+ students now, projected 1400 next school year. Dr. Dettmann gave update on school of choice.

· Need to reduce class size by 2 students per class (25 per class).

· Need additional space, up to 10 portables.

· Schedule joint team leader/ SAC budget meetings, what are the budget priorities?

· Budgets due around April 16^th.

· Budgets will be out 8:00am on March 25^th.

· Next meeting March 22nd at 4:00 pm, week before spring break April 6th additional meeting.

· PTSO sponsored Casino night, April 16th at 6:30 pm/ cafe, update by Lisa Rotolo, adults only

· Team baskets by team to raise money for team

· Other non-team items will go to SMS as a whole

· Tickets $50/ person, includes dinner

· Shirt orders are out and will be ordered this week

· First dance/ Valentine’s Dance

· February 13th (4pm-6pm)

· Tickets will be sold next week (Wed., 2/4, Thurs. 2/5, Fri. 2/6)

· Expectation slip must be signed by parent

· Ticket must be presented to enter

· Full-time gifted program

· Open House February 5th at 6:30 pm/ cafe

· School climate survey went out with report cards

· Parent FCAT Explorers Night on February 10th at 6:30 pm/ SMS labs

· Dress Code update: Doing better but teachers aren't catching all non-compliance individuals; So far 16 (11 girls and 5 boys)

· Professional. Learning Community workshops

· FCAT preparation for all subjects/ students

· Next meeting February 23rd

· March 22nd register all PAL approved hours
