  • Andy Fox encouraged SAC to share marketing ideas and suggestions. Marketing is a priority in the budget.  Andy is serving in a 40% position in Marketing.  Changes and improvements will be made.  He has already saved $15,000 in yellow pages advertising. The goals of the marketing committee are to increase adult enrollment and improve the internal marketing.

The city of Sarasota and other interested fire departments will attend.  Bruce and Dr. Norris will be at the meeting. For the Fire Science dept, the breathing apparatus has been received and compressor is on order. The smoke tower has not been repaired.  SCTI will run a high school program this year, as SCTI expects to have access to the fire facility through May.  They are in need of a fire truck.  The SAC discussed the issues regarding the Fire Science department.  Dr. Norris stated that the School Board would do what needs to be done to partner with other agencies for training in fire science.  Mickey stressed the need for SCTI to take a leadership position.
