He answered questions from SAC members regarding budget, location, and timing of construction. Peter Straw said the technical high school appeared to have School Board supports.

George McGonagill will represent SAC on the committee. Carol said that 18 students are enrolled for fall classes. A letter and program flyer from her and the department chair was sent to all registered students. She and Bruce Andersen have attended CTC meetings and will host the CTC Council on November 12 for breakfast and tour of the program. All SAC members are invited to attend. The NCCER curriculum has been adopted and textbooks have been ordered. The teacher will participate in the NCCER teacher certification program at MTI in the fall.

Bruce Andersen said the Auto Collision relocation to Building 10 will be ready by mid-semester. SCTI will distribute remaining horticultural materials, supplies, and equipment to middle schools and to SCTI McIntosh Animal Science program. Bays in Building 10 will house the paint booth, mixing booth, and other equipment.

Bill Costello asked about public relations budget cut. Bruce Andersen said more targeted marketing would take place. Tim White, Peter Straw, Bill McKinlay, and Louis Maltaghati would like to assist with marketing strategies.

VII.       Budget Update
Ken DeVeau said the previous year’s marketing budget was $150,000. This year it is $75,000. Discretionary funds are $220,000, which is one-third of previous year’s budget. He is concerned about next year and will look at organization structure to determine staffing. Purchase of equipment as approved by SAC is proceeding. Some Automotive Service equipment presents safety issues and he is looking for funds to purchase hoist(s) and tire changer. New fund sources are capital outlay FTE of $17,000 and technology grant of $5,000 for computers. There is also $37,000 funding from the District for laptops for staff. Current staffing issues are financial aid, projects manager, and student records registrar.

Peter Straw asked about the burn building. Ken DeVeau said it is operable, but we are looking for a grant. He also asked about the shade for Tech Tots. Eddy Boynton said she was waiting for bids.
