Noted:  Informational Handouts were distributed to the council.  First on the agenda; Outcomes/School Advisory Council will:

·        Review- Action Plan for bottom quartile student performance improvements.

·        Discuss:-RHS school grade, and means in which school grades are computed.

·        Update on the Renaissance Learning Center.

Noted:  Mrs.  Nook discussed the action plan with the council.

·        Objective 1- Educating the staff.  The Small Learning Communities are learning about students in the lowest quartile, and how to best support and assist them.

·        Pulling all of our resources together within each SLC- we are trying to assist and support those students that need extra assistance.

·        Monitoring the progress of these students, keeping teachers informed, counselors informed, and certainly, the parents and the student.

·        Demonstrate more than one year of growth within achievement levels.

·        Bonus points may be earned (new in 2007) if a t least 50% of 11 and 12th graders pass the F-CAT Retakes.

·        What happens if we do not make adequate progress in reading and math?

·        We are currently a “B,” school.  If we do not make adequate progress for the prior or current school year, then we will be a, “C,” school.

Noted:  Our students sitting on SAC had many questions and discussion ensued.  They wondered?

·        Our students just a statistic, or do teachers really help?

·        Honor students would like to help, students that need assistance.  IB-students are willing to assist students.  Students would like to see a posting of the RLC-teachers and rooms posted in each classroom.  Mrs.  Stoecklin said she would take care of this.
