Members in Attendance: George Kenney, Jim Clark, Jack Donoghue, Ron Barche, Mike Pelfrey, Rich Carney, Atanas Kobryn, Janice Deller, Mike Steele, John Salafia, Cathy Ziner, Jamie Hall, Phillip Czyz, Susie Bustillo, Emilee Walker, Bill Calhoun and Coretta Khourie

Meeting was called to order 5:36 followed by the National Anthem in memory of 9/11.

Motion was made by Atanas Kobryn, 2^nd by Jim Clark to accept the minutes of 8/14/06.

Dr. Kenney recommended Pat Hillard, North Port Walmart Store Manager as a business representative, 2^nd by Mike Pelfrey, motion passed

Reelected to the committee was Ron Barche, teacher, Janice Deller, classified, Dr. Czyz, parent, Jamie Hall, parent.

Newly elected to the committee was Jackie Pollard, Teacher, Phillie Brooks, classified, Bill Calhoun, parent, Coretta Khourie, parent.

Request for funds:

Dena Henderson requested for the Drama Department $1034.00 to be used for 8 students transportation and housing for the Florida Theatre Conference. Jim Clark made a motion to fund, 2^nd by Mike Pelfrey, motion passed to fund.

Math Department requested $2612.00 plus $1375.00 for subs for a total of $3987.00 for 10/12-14, 2006 for the Florida Council of Teachers of Mathematics Conference in Orlando, FL. After discussion it was motioned by Dr. Kenney to only allow 8 teachers because of a sub shortage that week and fund a total of $2,000 for Registration and a portion of the hotel. 2^nd by Mike Pelfrey motion passed to fund $2,000. Dr. Kenney stated that the sub pay would come from Title II Funds.

Caroline Gernert requested $1297.00 for travel, housing, registration and meals for 10/20-21 for a Literacy conference that covers all departments. The request was not clear on the number of teachers. A motion was made by Dr. Kenney that we fund $900.00 for registration and hotel for 4 teachers. 2^nd by Jack Donoghue, motion passed to fund. Subs for teachers will be paid by Title II funds.

Foreign Language Department requested $1170.00 for 6 teachers to attend the Foreign Language Association Conference in Sarasota for 10/12-14.2006. Dr. Kenney made a motion to approve just the 13^th & 14^th because of the concern for sub coverage. We would fund membership and registration, 2^nd by Dr. Czyz. Motion passed to fund for a total of $420.00.

Dr Kenney made a presentation of SIP plan and discussed goals. After comments and questions about the SIP plan, Jack Donoghue made a motion to accept the SIP plan as presented, 2^nd by Ron Barche. 2006-2007 SIP plan was approved as presented.

Meeting was adjourned at 6:55
