McIntosh Middle School School Advisory Council Agenda November 20, 2007

1. Welcome	Chair
2. Meetings: Once per quarter – Next Meeting – January 22, 2008 Additional meetings may be called on an ‘as needed’ basis.
2. Intervention handbooks – a. Ms. Orr reported that she had presented an idea to SDMT regarding the purchase of books for teachers. These books would be used as a sort of handbook of interventions for given situations. The books are being reviewed and considered for purchase.	Orr
4. School-wide activities update a. We had a large turnout of veterans for our annual Veteran's Day assembly. b. Also, we quickly arranged for bus transportation to the boys basketball championships at Pine View. Many commented on the excellent behavior of our students and the school spirit.	Orr
5. Teacher FCAT Camp funding request a. Deanne Nelson presented a request for funding of Teacher FCAT Camp. Teachers would be given a four hour training on the reading clusters. This training is in response to the Executive Director's request that all teachers be instructed on the FCAT Reading Clusters. Because of the constraints of the school day, Ms. Nelson is recommending the training for after school. Teachers could choose to use this as part of their 30 hours, request a stipend, or request salary credit. If a stipend is requested, the rate is $12.00 per hour. Ms Nelson is requesting an amount not to exceed $1,000.00 in order to cover any requests for stipend. Tracy Wilson recommended approval, second by Mr. Rosenbaum. Request was passed unanimously.
