Business/Community Members:

Deanna Nicholas submitted nominations for two year terms. The following members were unanimously selected:

            Evan Duke – Class Creations

            Joan Goetz – Suntrust Bank

Matt Gerzeny – RV World, Inc.

            Elena Rafaniello – Gemini Apparel

Data Evaluation – Linda Meyer – LNS Data Coach:

Using spreadsheets and graphs to arrange and display data, Linda helped us celebrate the observable progress.

Don Burman wondered if it would be possible to retrieve some data on our middle school students to see if progress continued.

School Improvement Plan – Nancy:

The committee was given the SIP Plan 2007-2008.

The updated school mission statement “CAN DO, WORK HARD, GET SMART” and the Vision Statement, “Motivate all students to reach their highest potential of achievement by challenging and empowering them to be life-long learners and responsible citizens” are to be added to the plan.

It was suggested that Monica Brown work with the students to develop posters of the catchy new mission statement for display in classrooms and around the school.

Other:

Need to approve minutes from last year.

Attendance of training workshop for new SAC members was urged as informative and beneficial.

Look over professional development topics and consider possible funding for one at Laurel/Nokomis.

Respectfully submitted,

Barbara Needleman
