Minutes: Approval of the last meetings minutes were tabled until the next meeting.
Reports from
Estimate for Next Years Enrollment: Enrollment is currently at 1246 and is projected for next year at 1150. We generally have more growth in grades 6, 7, and 8 than in K-5. We will know more about K enrollment after Kindergarten Roundup.
Our #1 goal is student achievement.
The Elementary Tech Lab will be updated.
Active Boards are scheduled to be installed Feb 20, 21 and 22. More will be installed this summer.
We will be discussing the budget for next year in March and April.
The district is now in a hiring freeze and even subs for positions that have become available have to go before a special committee.
There are two Connect-Ed messages coming out. The first on 1/24/07 will be to parents of 8th graders regarding new policies for registering for high school in terms of courses of study and focus of interest. Venice High is having a Career Night on 1/31 and Riverview will be having a Career Night on 2/1.
Other: There will be a community forum at LNS in March to discuss the condition and possibilities for dealing with the condition of the VHS building.
The next meeting will be on 2/27/07.
