HERON CREEK MIDDLE SCHOOLS SAC MEETING

January 10, 2008

Present: Kimberly Deeb, Carlos Albino, Jeremy Fant, Ted Watson, Matt Davis, Lynsey Davis, Michael Desjardins, Vince Dennen, Theresa Tatko, Mounira Ragsdale

Minutes of December 6, 2007 SAC meeting were reviewed and approved.

New Business:

Beth Fred requested $1,691.68 for FCAT Science Mini-Labs (30 total). SAC approved

$1,000.00 and Dr. Desjardins will pay for the remainder of $691.68.

Amber Krug requested permission for a Math-a-Thon (St. Jude fundraiser). No cost to HCMS and is not mandatory for students. Students complete 200 math problems and receive pledges per math problem. Affords extra practice for students and provides funds to St. Jude Hospital. Motion approved.

Dr. Desjardins presented the Principal’s Report. Changes forthcoming at HCMS regarding staffing to Woodland Middle School.

Credit Retrieval was discussed for 6^th and 7^th graders at HCMS to be able to pass a core subject they are failing.
