Heron Creek Middle School SAC Meeting

October 4, 2007

Present: Kimberly Deeb, Carlos Albino, Michael Desjardins, Jeremy Fant, Matt Davis, Ted Watson, Lynsey Davis, Theresa Tatko, Mounira Ragsdale, Vince Dennen, Rachael McDonald, Keenan Chapman

Minutes from 9/13/07 SAC meeting were reviewed and approved.

New Business:

Motion was made to table request for funds for math conference by Renee Thompson in order to obtain more detailed information.

Motion was made to table request for funds for field trip buses by Greg Flick in order to obtain more detailed information.

Kate Lynn requested funds for math conference in Orlando. Motion approved for $957 to cover registration fees and 3 substitute teachers for November 16 for Kate Lynn, Helene Feo and Kelly Koerick to attend.

Discussion began regarding the A+ award money and the distribution of it. HCMS will be awarded $198,000. SAC will meet on October 11 at 7:45 a.m. to further discuss and review results of vote on 10/9/07. Motion approved.

Principal’s Report:

SRI testing was a success; approximately 2100 students were tested in reading comprehension in a 3 week period.

Raymond Wilson has been appointed Assistant Principal at HCMS.
