SAC Meeting 3/24/05 – Heron Creek Middle School

Attendance: Lois Mancuso, Ted Watson, Katherine Perrault, Henry Paul, Fran Chippendale, Deb Earley, Scott Wilson, Mimi Steger, Richelle Taylor-Harris, Peggy Orlando, S. Terhune

Minutes of 2/3/05 SAC Meeting were reviewed and approved.

New Business:

Beverly Templeton, 7^th grade Science teacher, requested funds for a fieldtrip to the Sarasota Bay Estuary on Lido Key. Motion approved for $600 to supplement cost of busses for field trip.

Melissa Varlas, 7^th grade Science teacher, requested funds for a fieldtrip to Mote Marine on May 10 & 11. Motion approved for $1100.00 to supplement cost of busses for field trip to Mote Marine.

Amy Kelley, 7^th grade Language Arts teacher, requested $200 for cost to attend the Florida Holocaust Summer Institute. Motion approved for $200.

Colleen Glenney, Band Director, requested permission for Market Day fundraiser through band boosters for the next school year. Motion for permission granted.

The HCMS Golf Tournament will be held at Heron Creek on June 4, 2005.

PTO elections will be held on 4/21/05 for the next school year.

Scott Wilson, Principal, reviewed the 2005-2006 proposed budget for HCMS. Motion approved to accept proposed budget.

HCMS Stepping Forth Ceremony will be on May 24, 2005 at NPHS PAC and will be divided in two sessions. The first ceremony will be for three 8^th grade teams from

10:30-12:00 and the other three 8^th grade teams from 1:30-3:00. Motion approved for this proposal.

Next SAC meeting will be April 7, 2005 at 7:30.
