NEW BUSINESS:
Discussion involved the growth at HCMS and the need for additional staff, new teams will be added to each grade level. Ted Watson requested $2500 from SAC for maps, books, materials, etc. Motion approved for $2,500 for new materials for Social Studies Dept.
$2,289 was the profit made from the HCMS golf
tournament. Next golf tournament will be
held on
Mr. Wilson reviewed the grade HCMS received. HCMS received a “B” grade (396) and missed an “A” grade by 14 points (410).
51% of students scored below grade level in reading and math for incoming 6th graders.
At HCMS the scores were as follows:
Grade 6: 5% improvements
Grade
Grade 8: 3% improvements
AYP: African American: gain of 14%
AYP: Hispanic: gain of 27%
AYP: White: gain of 4%
ESE: AYP: 4% decline
Low Income: gain of 8%
LEP: gain of 1%
MATH:
Grade 6: 7% decline
Grade 7: 5% increase
Grade 8: 5% increase
Other business:
HCMS received another $30,000 grant from the Gulf Coast Community Foundation
Three board members will need to be replaced for the 2004-2005 school year.
