SAC Minutes

 

May 13. 2008

 

 

Members in attendance:  Debbie Beck, Heather Clark, Mary Fielder, robin Hagood, Trish Taylor, Linda Loonam, Stacie Nevelus, Judy Ponchot, Pat Preston, Marti Rudick, Kelly West, Deanna Whitlow, Rita wWitte, Marilyn Cafaro.

 

 

 

3:30                Meeting called to order by SAC Chair Linda Loonam.

 

 

Information was passed out regarding the “class breakdowns” by grade level for the 2008-2009 school year.  Class Size Amendment  information was shared.

 

                        Discussion of whether or not baked goods/food should be brought

                        In from home.  Robin Hagood shared Food Allergy Facts and

                        Statistics from the Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network was

                        shared with members.  The number of students at Gulf Gate who

                        currently have severe food allergies was shared as well as

the number of new students coming to school next year who are known to have severe allergies to peanuts.  Discussion was shared

                        among members.  Debbie Beck made a motion and Deanna

                        Whitlow seconded it.

 

                        “For the safety of all our Gulf Gate children, home baked/cooked

                        goods should not be brought in to share with others.”

 

                        Motion carried unanimously.

 

Robin Hagood shared the Climate Survey results.  Members were given copies of survey results.

 

 

                        Robin Hagood thanked the members for their service this year and

                        asked if anyone was interested in continuing their service for next

                        year, to please contact the front office.
