Gocio Elementary School

Advisory Council (SAC)

November 20, 2007

The fourth meeting of the 2007/08 Gocio SAC was held at 3:30 with the following 14 members represented:

Brenda Aguayo, Sarah Booth, Barbara Cooke, Audrey Davis,

Steve Dragon, Deborah Fipps, Julie Harrell, Kirsten Hazelton,

Rana Hodges, Josefina Mondragon, Angela Robinson,

Martha Samuelson, Angela Smithson, and Debra Voege.

The minutes of the October 23 meeting were read silently.  Rana Hodges made a motion to accept them, which was seconded by Debra Voege.  SAC approved them.

The outcome for dispersing the $91,000 from the Florida State Recognition Program was discussed.  The proposal receiving the most votes has all employees receiving equal shares based on the percentage of hours worked.  $1999.71 is to be set aside for student gifts.  Our SRO is to receive a 50% share.

It was discovered that our SRO is unable to accept any of the money, therefore her share will be used to purchase additional books with a bookplate indicating that the book is a donation from Detective Brown and DARE.

The SIP budget was discussed.  Deborah Fipps made a motion that the budget continue to be used to fund the Florida Studio Theatre Programs and to purchase agenda books for all Gocio students.  It was seconded by Angela Smithson.  SAC approved the motion.

Stipend positions were discussed. Debra Voege made a motion that the cheerleader advisor receive $100 as a token of appreciation.  Julie Harrell seconded it.  Discussion followed.  Deborah Fipps made a motion that each of the three Renaissance Coordinators receive a stipend of $148. They would include the pianist, the cheerleader advisor and the awards coordinator. Debra Voege seconded it.  SAC approved the motion.

A motion for adjournment was made by Deborah Fipps and seconded by Rana Hodges.  The meeting adjourned at 4:05 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for 3:30 on Jan. 15, 2007.

Respectfully submitted,

Barbara Cooke
