The first meeting of the 2007/08 Gocio SAC was held at 3:30 with the following 18 members in attendance:

Maureen Taliento, and Debra Voege.
Members
introduced themselves and their role on SAC (teacher, parent, business partner,
community member). Mr. Dragon explained
the Ground Rules for all meetings and introduced the SAC Operational Guidelines
Draft, which members will read over and approve our next meeting. It was decided that folders would be provided
for all SAC members to use as a place to organize their handouts.
A
general discussion of our school grade (A) took place. It was mentioned that we will be receiving
monies from the state for earning this grade and that SAC will be instrumental
in the decisions to be made concerning the allotment of the funds. SAC involvement in the recent remodeling
decisions was noted. Mr. Dragon
commented that the State Legislature is revisiting the A+ plan during its
current session and changes may be made regarding this award.
Mr.
Dragon addressed Article VII (Officers) of the SAC Operational Guidelines Draft
and SAC accepted the following volunteers:
Kirsten Hazelton and Julie Harrell as Co-Chairpersons, and Angela
Robinson and Barbara Cooke as Co-Recording Secretaries.
The
Flexible Supplement Allocation and the 5-Star Notebook will be on the agenda
for the October meeting.
Future
SAC meetings will be held October 23, November 20, January 15, February 12,
March 11, April 15, and May 13.
A motion
for adjournment was made by Debra Voege and seconded by Martha Samuelson. The meeting adjourned at 4:15 p.m.
