School Advisory Council – Minutes

Members Present:

Amy Baker, Sean Cheeseman, Aaron Hayes, Stephanie Schaub, Sean Viara, Valerie Smith, Myrette Rodney, Tammy LaPlant, Vicki Parisi, Dorie Cleere, Tina Kupiers, Eduardo Maron

 

Old Business

 

1.      Approval of SAC minutes- A motion to accept was made by Dorie Cleere. Aaron Hayes seconded, all members were in favor.

 

New Business

 

1.   Florida School Recognition Award Distribution Plan- Ms. Baker presented the plan submitted by SDMT.  A motion to accept was made by Aaron Hayes.   Sean Cheeseman seconded, all members were in favor.

 

2.   Stipends- Ms. Baker elucidated the proposed stipend supplements for the 2007-08 school year.  A motion to accept was made by Eduardo Maron.  Myrette Rodney seconded, all members were in favor.

 

3.   SAC Project- The 2007-08 SAC project was discussed by all members.  Officer Viara recommended incorporating the 5th grade Egg Drop with the yearly SAC project.  Ms. Baker discussed a kit sent by the Title One Office that facilitated a family math night.  Dorie Cleere asked about a timeline for the SAC Project, and Ms. Baker replied that we need to show documentation by May 1st. 

 

  1. Other- Ms. Baker explained the Penny Tax and the impact it has on our school.

She also detailed the tremendous success our school had with the VMath Live competition.
