School Advisory Council – Minutes

 

Thursday September 20, 2007

Media Center 4:45-5:30

 

Members Present:

Amy Baker, Sean Cheeseman, Eduardo Maron, Aaron Hayes, Stephanie Schaub, Sean Viara, Valerie Smith, Myrette Rodney, Tammy LaPlant, Vicki Parisi, Phil Tompson, Dorie Cleere, Tina Kuipers – Matt Loge was also in attendance

 

 

 

New Business

 

1.                  All new SAC members were introduced to the committee along with Glenallen’s new Assistant Principal Matt Loge.

 

2.                  The new SAC Co-Chairperson was elected.  A motion was made by Eduardo Maron to nominate Sean Cheeseman as Co-Chairperson. Mr. Cheeseman accepted this nomination.  No other nominations were presented. Consensus was reached.  Sean Cheeseman accepted his appointment.

 

3.                  SAC Recording Secretary was elected.  A motion was made by to nominate Eduardo Maron as Recording Secretary. All members were in favor. Eduardo Maron accepted his appointment.

 

4.                  Ms. Baker handed out SAC by-laws to be reviewed by all members before the next meeting for approval.

 

5.                  Ms. Baker went over the following plans in detail:

a.       School Improvement Plan

b.      Professional Development Plan

 

An opportunity for input was offered to all members.

 

A motion approve the SIP/PDP was made by Dorie Cleere. Eduardo Maron seconded, all members were in favor.

 

6.                  Ms. Baker requested $13,200 of SAC funding to be allocated to cover the cost of substitutes when site based training is offered in writing.  A motion was made by Eduardo Maron to accept.  Valerie Smith seconded, all members were in favor.
