Homeroom parents will be asked to call families to invite them to the event. Kathy Rule will be paid to run the Media Center from 3:30 – 7:30 PM. We will ask staff to volunteer to help students take AR tests and work the sign-in table. Sheila Kaufer, Jacaranda Public Library, will do a storytelling from 6:00 – 6:30. Melanie Buckalter, Gabrielle O’Berry, and Susan Ionescu will read stories from 5:00 – 6:00. (Emile Quinn, Gary Gray, Ann Skow, and Eve Bendix have volunteered to read. We will put them on the agenda for February.) Robbie Thomas and Jack Shultz will make popcorn. Gabrielle O’Berry will get soda from Kash-N-Karry, thanks to Jack Shultz. Barbara Henschell will work the sign-in table. Emile will announce the events as they occur and supply the popcorn. Anne Feely will be putting on a parent workshop at 6:30 called “Study Survival Skills.”

4) Business Partnership of the Year Award – Garden’s SAC awarded Gary Gray and Venice Assembly of God an award for Business Partner of the Year.

Congratulations and thank you for all your support!

5) FCAT Packs – Fun was had by all as the entire SAC formed two assembly lines to put together the FCAT packs. The pocket of pencils, erasers, sharpeners, etc… will be used to motivate the 3rd – 5th grade students to do their best on the big test.

6) Other – Emile Quinn wants to have each grade level have a Math Facts Challenge. He will work with the Curriculum Committee to establish criteria. He demonstrated one of the top prizes for the winners in each grade.
