SAC Meeting

Members Present:  Annie Avrutis, Pam Colucci, Laura Kingsley, Cindy Newell, Henry Pugh, Charlotte Stallings, Kathy Van Praag,.

 

1)    Welcome & Review of Minutes by Annie Avrutis.

 

2)    Future meetings will be at 4:30 on Thursdays.

 

3)    Cameras are not allowed near the bathrooms in Building 5.

 

4)    Two gates have been shut with bungee cords in the mornings, and it has been helpful.

 

5)    There will be signs posted regarding the cameras being on campus.

 

Facilities:

  1. The Pre-K playground will be resurfaced during the summer.
  2. The Media Center will be re-roofed, which will also be done during the summer.  Older books will be replaced in the library by the district for $30,000, and the PTO will fund another $10,000.  There will not be any summer school or daycare at Fruitville. 
  3. The office building is scheduled to be renovated in the five-year plan.  The façade will remain the same, and the clinic will be expanded. 
  4. The district is exploring costs of eliminating the portables and building classrooms, and may seek bond funding.
  5. In 2008, Honore four laning will begin.  Property has been purchased in the corridor.  There have been discussions regarding entrances and exits from the school.  The county has agreed to put a light in at Sawgrass.  The traffic patterns at Fruitville will need to be changed.

 

SIP – Reviewed Goals

  1. Progress Monitoring – Catherine Burkee will review progress in February.
  2. Smart Pups volunteers have been on campus.
  3. AR  -- More money has been requested for the Prize Patrol because of the success of the students this year.
  4. The mentoring program was expanded by the Ad Team this year, and it’s been very successful.
  5. Susan Pufta will be contacted about the “Rockin’ Readers” program.
  6. RIF should be added next year.
  7. “Fast on Facts” is every Thursday.  Hope to have a T-shirt for this program next year.

 

 

 

 

 

SIP Dollars –

  1. All dollars have been spent.

 

Reviewed the plan for the 300 square foot track the PTO is planning on building in front of the retention pond.

 

 

                                    The next meeting will be February 15th @  4:30.
