School Improvement Funds Expenditures:

Star Testing Update: Donna Catanzarite
introduced the request that School Improvement funds be allocated for updating
our Star Testing software. The Star
tests are used 2 to 4 times per year by teachers to establish AR reading levels
for individual students and to track growth
through the school year. The
cost is $599.00 plus shipping for 200 students plus $75.00 for each additional
50 students. To cover the costs for the
entire school population would be approximately $900.00. After discussion the motion to approve the
expenditure was approved by consensus (motion by Lynn Wagenseil; 2nd
by Mary Hodge.)

Target Test Prep FCAT: Donna explained that
purchase of Target Test Prep FCAT would
provide a database in three areas, math, reading, and writing. The database includes a bank of 100
questions for each grade level which correlate to Sunshine State Standards and
are FCAT style questions for authentic practice for our students. The cost of the program is $1499.00 plus
shipping. After discussion the motion
to approve the expenditure was approved by consensus (motion by Bill Burrell, 2nd
by Jane DeClercq.)

PTA Announcement: Diane Gomoll asked that
team representatives get information to their teams about signup for classroom
baskets for the Silent Auction. Sign up
will be in the office, and the baskets should be smaller than in the past.

Student Performance Data Analysis Group Reports: Groups for Writing, Math, and Reading spent the
remainder of the meeting reviewing their data and placing key information on
chart paper in preparation for reporting to the group at our March 19th
meeting.
·
Reminder: The next SAC meeting
will be on Wednesday, March 19th at 3:00 p.m. in the Green Eagle
Theater. The meeting is earlier in the
month than usual due to the Spring Break Holiday. Refreshments for the meeting will be provided by Cheryl Roeder
and Tonya Wampler.
