will be shared at next meeting; #2. SIP- under corrective
action plan this year. Gave
information about AYP and what the criteria- have not met in past three
years. Last year all but one in
Reading made it and all but one in Math did not make it. We are implementing new plans/ways to make
gains. If we don’t make AYP this year
we are looking at corrective action from State. |

PTA- representative from PTA for the SPMT
group? Afterschool Chorus- Free tickets for
community events- especially for performances Primary function is a recommending body for
suggestions Voting for functions, events, etc. to decide
on how things will run, work Enrollment up or down? Sitting about 650
students. Class size reduction is an
issue K-2 1:18; 3-5 1:22; 3rd grade retainers- 9 were retained this year!!!! 9-11 memorial assembly- well represented on
TV ideas/suggestions- what can we do to foster support in the
school out to the community? When
parents are involved - students do better. How do we get parents involved in
aspect of reading out on the community?
Anyone who touches a child needs to ask a child if they are reading/
have they read. Need to read everyday.
Hold students accountable for language- solicit appropriate responses. Tell
me about your day vs. how was your day. Media Center Night? Think of ideas that will help us get parents
into the school. Oct. 5th meeting- NAACP awards- possibility
of Oct 4th meeting Projects in the media center- Ms. Henry’s
students- check over the student’s projects and give quick feedback as a
TEAM- Plan an Emma Booker Day at Redskins field-
have teachers there and have an event with a gimic;
for visiting free hotdog-etc. Partner with coaches and school for
discipline? We ALL need to work to
value education GWIZ is having free Friday (5-8) for the rest
of the month- spread the word. Talk with local businesses about
partnerships. ESAC meetings and Family Ambasador
