Meeting notes from the SAC meeting November 28, 2006.
Mrs. Pappas presented a slide show on the Florida Studio Theater presentation which SAC sponsored. Students and teachers were excited with the presentation. Teachers have begun to write a play which will be submitted by April.
Title I Audit- Mrs. Daniels discussed the audit and introduced Patricia Godwin as the parent liaison. She reviewed the school “compact” which will be sent to all parents. Mrs. Roberson is putting together a “box” of information including sample communications with parents, parent meetings, teacher schedules and various reports, etc. This is an audit of the District and we do not know yet if Cranberry will be selected as a site or not.
Sarasota County Planning Tool (SCPT) is now in progress. This is the second evaluation of students reading, math and for 5th grade science this year. Teacher will be looking at results in January to see growth and weaknesses. Mrs. Daniels is offering a story time for the class with the most growth. The SRI assessment will be given in January. This test is for reading comprehension and Mrs. Daniels has also offered a story time incentive for students.
Mrs. Daniels asked one of the teachers to explain Data Books. Mrs. Pappas explained that it is an informal book tracking the lowest 5 students in each class. Administration meets with each teacher to discuss assessments, and progress students are making.
District Grant-- There is a district grant that was written that should afford us an additional guidance counselor for 3 years and a home school liaison. This is funded by the grant and we are awaiting approval to post the position. The Home School Liaison will be able to visit families in their homes.
Mr. Cramer and Mrs. Daniels will be attending an informational meeting this evening on the new middle school to be built. New school boundries will be discussed
Respectfully submitted
