SAC MEETING MINUTES

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 9, 2004

MEDIA CENTER 8:00 A.M.

The meeting was called to order by Nick Trolli at 8:00 a.m.

1.      The discussion and presentation of the 2004-2005 guidelines was

tabled until the next SAC meeting.

2.      Ms. Daniels presented the SIP and explained the Professional

Learning Communities.  The thrust from these will be to determine what teachers and administrators can do to make sure students are learning.

3.      A secret ballot was taken to elect a Vice Chairperson.  Don Cramer

      was elected as Vice Chairperson.

4.       Nick Trolli led a discussion regarding the proper parliamentary

procedure to be followed at our SAC Meetings.  He stated we should

be using Roberts Rules of Order and asked the Assistant Principal,

John Carey if he would be the parliamentarian to ensure the

proper procedures were followed.  Mr. Carey said he would consider it

but needed more information regarding the Roberts Rules of Order.

Mr. Trolli agreed to get him the information.

5.      Discussion on possible election of New SAC members was tabled.

6.  Mrs. Gummo, a parent, presented her views against the requirement of

school uniforms.  Several SAC members responded with their opinion

of how school uniforms have a positive effect on student learning.  A

discussion regarding a uniform exchange program ensued and Ms.

Daniels stated we would be working to put a uniform exchange

program in place at the end of this school year.

Respectfully submitted,

Margaret Roberson, Secretary
