SAC MEETING MINUTES

SPECIAL CALLED MEETING

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23, 2004

8:00 A.M. Room 110

 

 

The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m. by Ms. Linda Daniels.

 

  1. Copies of the School Improvement Plan from the 2003-2004 school year were distributed to all members together with a copy of the School Improvement Plan for the 2004-2005 school year to be completed.

 

2.  Each member also received a copy of the minutes of the last SAC      

          meeting.

 

  1. Ms. Daniels shared that all schools are expected to write Reading and Math School Improvement strategies and activities.  If the School had not met the District’s goal with 90% of students with a score of Level 3 or above in writing then writing must be a goal for the 2004-2005 school year.  Cranberry has not met that goal.   On the FCAT writing 89% of our students scored a Level 3 or above.  Therefore, Cranberry needs to focus on Reading, Math and Writing as a goal for the 2004-2005 school year.

 

  1. During this meeting the SAC committee wrote strategies and activities to meet the Reading, Math, and Writing goals.

 

  1. The other 6 goals, Science, Arts, Technology, Career Preparation, Citizenship/Safe and Orderly Schools, and Family and Community Involvement were also addressed during this meeting.

 

  1. The SAC Committee will meet next month at their regularly scheduled time on Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 8:00 a.m. in the Media Center to complete the School Improvement Plan.

 

  1. Meeting was adjourned at 8:50 a.m.
