Referendum Update

Brookside PTSO invited C.B.S. (Citizens for Better School) as their guest speaker at the January PTSO.  They presented information to our parents explaining the positive effects the referendum would have on our school as well as the entire school system.

It was announced that Friday, Feb 10th is sign day.  C.B.S. would like citizens to put up signs showing support for the referendum.

Brookside sent home a flyer with each student explaining how the referendum will affect Brookside.   Brookside has voter registration information on the home web page.

SIP Progress Monitoring

The progress monitoring tools provided by the district have provided valuable information related to the effectiveness of the instructional practices being implemented as part of this years School Improvement Plan. All NCLB subgroups have shown growth as reflected on the FORF (oral fluency probe), SRI-LEXILE (Comprehension), and SCPT (grade level reading and math standards).  The administrative team will be meeting with the school board on March 7, 2006 to reflect on our progress to date.
