The meeting was called to order at 2:15 p.m. by Nick Kohler.
Nick welcomed everyone and introduced
Steve Bloom, who joined the SAC meeting today.

Writes and Sarasota
County Planning Tool
- County
purchased SCPT Princeton Review.
- Third
Brookside Writes will be administered November 15, 2005.
- Brookside
Writes graded as a school.
- Writing
pieces will go back to the teachers and used as a tool.
- Goal: To use Sarasota County Planning Tool to
create own grade level assessments.
- We are
using data to plan instruction.
- DOE-Fl
Reading Council Research based literacy materials are being used by all
teachers.
Nick Kohler - Brookside Assessment: How Brookside is
assessing children.
- Sarasota County Planning Tool.
- SRI transfers
reading scores into Lexile scores.
- Lexile
shows growth towards goal.
- Fluency
Probes are administered to progress monitor fluency.
NeXt Generation (5 year plan)
30 hours non
duty time to develop Standards Based Lesson Plans Design.
