Members Present:
Joe
Bazenas, Dawn Carey, Mary Sue DeHart, Mary Beth Devaney, Mark Homrich, Jeff
Hradek, Chris Reese, Debra Reese, Karen Rose, Det. Reggie Ross, Cory Williams
Introductions were made of all members present.
Minutes were reviewed from November 13, 2002. Mary Beth Devaney made a motion to accept the minutes. Joe Bazenas seconded the motion. Consensus was reached.
F.C.A.T. test dates are as follows: February 11 and March 4 and 5, 2003.
Requests for funds were as follows:
Sue White made a request of $2,572.79 for ink cartridges for the school’s printers. The School Board is looking into cost effective ways for next year, i.e. use of identical printers at each school so cartridges can be bought in bulk. Joe Bazenas made a motion to accept this request. Chris Reese seconded motion. Consensus was reached.
Karen Rose made a request for S.A.C. to pay for the printing of the Career Academy Brochures. However after much discussion, members could not reach consensus. This request was, therefore, not approved.
Karen Rose made a request of $1,200 for S.A.C. to pay for Susan Maas-Lyon to coordinate our new G.A.T.E. program for the 2003-2004 school year. This is a new program targeted at drawing gifted students to stay at Brookside which would be their districted school instead of going to other middle schools who already have a gifted program in place. Mary Sue DeHart made a motion to accept this request. Joe Bazenas seconded motion. Consensus was reached.
