S.A.C. MINUTES
October 9, 2002 at 2:15 P.M.

Introductions were made of all members. Deb Reese could not be here today due to a family emergency; therefore Karen Rose will run the meeting.
Minutes were reviewed from September 11, 2002. There is one change – a typographical error was corrected. Mary Beth Devaney made a motion to accept the minutes. Nick Kohler seconded the motion. Consensus was reached.
This is our last year for our 5-year Strategic Plan. Discussion was held regarding the Needs Assessment located on the last page of the Strategic Plan. The previous page is a summary of all revisions made.
I.A.T. is doing a great job focusing in on Student Attendance and Behavior Referrals as well as sending home letters, etc.
We are currently working with a woman hired by the School Board on our Safe and Orderly School Plan different items include mentors for Hispanics, starting a Hispanic Achievers Group like the Black Achievers Group. We will keep S.A.C. posted on how it progresses.
Judy Dunn, Sue White, and Linda Lyons would like money to attend FETC and IRA conferences. Jeff Hradek made a motion to approve all three teachers attending these conferences. Nick Kohler seconded motion. Consensus was reached.
A $55.00 registration fee for Catherine Evensen and an $85.00 registration fee for Gerry Drackett to attend conferences were also approved today.
Alex Cornell mentioned that there are Educational Foundation Grants available in the amount of $500. Also Selby Gardens have grants available to teachers.
