Jeff Hradek went over the budget process with the committee.  Brookside was awarded $138,042 in A+ dollars this year.  Mr. Hradek and Team Leaders came up with a break down on how funds were to be allocated.  Seven hundred dollars will be given to each team and $10,000 will go into Brookside’s capital budget for technology equipment.  Other funds were divided up among staff who worked at Brookside last year.  Nick Kohler made a motion to approve the A+ dollar allocations.  Karen Rose seconded motion.  All members voted and approved allocations by consensus.

Karen Rose reviewed EQUIP Data and School Improvement Plan.  Safe and Orderly Schools, Goal 9, went down a little bit last year due to attendance.  Procedures are in place this year to improve attendance.  Brookside will be focusing in on five goals while maintaining two other goals this school year.

S.A.C. Lottery Dollar Requests:

M. DeCiantis was requesting $1,400 for job shadowing for her students this year and $750 for tutoring.  Business Education students go to the elementary schools and tutor younger children.  Jeff Hradek made a motion that we approve this allocation.  Nick Kohler seconded motion.  Consensus was reached.

Susan Maas-Lyon attended S.A.C. to request funds for a Family Literacy Night of Reading.  Ms. Maas-Lyon plans to have an “Oprah” type book club.  Grant approval would not occur until January therefore she is requesting funds from S.A.C. to get a jump start on “reading”.  Child care will be made available so all families will have an opportunity to attend.  The amount she is requesting is $700.  Nick Kohler made a motion that we approve this.  Cory Williams’ seconded motion.  Consensus was reached.

Deb Markley attended S.A.C. to request $1,200 in funds for and Arts Attack Program.  These are videos that students can work on projects while looking at the video which frees up teacher to move around the room.  Ms. Markley also wanted to thank S.A.C. for the money used for the Elmo machine last year.  It is working out wonderfully in the classroom.  Cory Williams made a motion that we approve this.  Mary Sue DeHart seconded motion.  Consensus was reached.
