~ Projections for 2007 – 2008 school year at Brentwood Elementary

-          Michelle Henderson shared projections for the next school year with the SAC members.  These projections were passed on to her from the Landings.

-          Numbers for next year are going to be done from this year.

-          Loss of some teaching positions may result.

~ Specials Offerings

-          Discussion was held for next year’s specials.

-          Everything is going to be based on the number of specials teachers that Brentwood can afford to keep on staff.

-          Two different models were discussed.  One model was presented where there are 5 specials teachers.  The other model presented was if there are 6 specials teachers.

-          Discussion was held on which of the options was best for the students and the SAC members came to a consensus and the decision will now be taken to the SDMT for approval.

~ Family Involvement Conference Update

-          Keith Thompson and Michelle Henderson updated the SAC members of the conference they attended that was focused on parent involvement in a Title I school setting.

-          Ideas and feedback were given.

-          From the discussion ideas about having a Family Math and Science Night at Brentwood were formed.  These nights are going to be discussed further at a future meeting, but would not take place until the next school year.

~ Budget

-          Michelle Henderson presented information about budgeting for next school year.  She is anticipating getting the budget sometime in mid April.  At that point the SAC members and the SDMT will be meeting together to share ideas and help plan for next year’s budget.

-          Michelle Henderson also brought up the Unit Allocation, which is $200,000 dollars we receive for being a Title I school.  Discussions about how to possibly spend this money for the next school year will be held at future meetings.

Meeting was ended at 8:10.
