Adopt-A –Class Update:

Stacey Blackwell mentioned that she did not have the current list of what classes were still remaining but that there main goal this year was to make sure that every class gets adopted.  Cindy Russo mentioned a couple of businesses that would possibly be willing to adopt and their names were taken down and will be contacted through our Adopt-A-Class committee.

Citizens for Better Schools:

Corry Tyle passed around several signs for holding up and stickers about the upcoming vote.  The next meeting for CBS is taking place tonight (3/6/06) at The Jewish Community Center at 5:00.

Stacey Blackwell will be providing information as to various locations and times that Brentwood will volunteer to hold up signs prior to the vote.

PALS Report:

Viola Cashmore mentioned that we currently have 3,054 logged volunteer hours.  She encouraged teachers to make sure all our volunteers are logging their hours each time.

Misc./Other:

Mindy Simmons shared about her music CD and its use as a possible fundraiser for Brentwood.  Her music learning CD was created through a grant she applied for and that half of the sale of each CD can go directly to Brentwood for various funds.  Various ways to possibly incorporate this fundraiser were mentioned such as our upcoming Spring Fling and having a booth set up and singing songs from her CD.  Stacey Blackwell also mentioned the possibility of having a new Fall Fundraiser rather than Sally Foster.  Ideas such as Little Caesar’s Pizza were mentioned but no decisions were made to change as of yet.

Fun Run:

Julie Lopez showed PTO the Fun Run shirts for this year.  All t-shirts are in, she has enough volunteers now, and we have oranges for snacks for the students.  She mentioned that she still needed to figure out about cups and water for the students and business partners such as Sweetbay were mentioned to contact for possible donations.

Spring Fling:

-The sign up sheet for the various booths for teachers was posted.  Several teachers signed up prior to the meeting and the list will be posted in the teacher workroom for teachers to continue to sign up if they choose to do so.
