Booker
High Students met with Ms.
White-Davis
and Sarasota County School Board
Superintendent, Dr. Norris , to discuss how education needs to expand to better
accommodate student educational needs.
Five
students are selected by Ms. White-Davis to serve on the Student President’s
Council. These five students in turn
select another Booker High student to serve on the committee. The ten student committee is comprised of a
cross-section of Booker High students who have concerns, who want to be heard,
and are willing to voice their opinion on what student accommodation and
current issues need addressing by to
enhance their education and atmosphere at Booker High.
Current
concerns and issues to be addressed are:
BHS campus beautification – too much
trash on campus
Air conditioning of classrooms – too
uneven
Dress codes needing enforcement
Cafeteria food choices and quality
Student- instructional demands at
the end of the year too strenuous
