Attendance
at this conference is mandatory in order for Booker High
to maintain the Key Club Charter.
SAC did not approve this expenditure
of Lottery dollars. Suggested
possible
funding through a Booker High
internal account, possible
that
Kiwanis Club could match funds.

Teachers
are preparing students to test using FCAT format bubble
sheets.
Strategies
include pep talks to instill student achievement confidence.
Advisory,
TAP time each Wednesday, teachers are using the
“Tornado
Drill Book” emphasizing FCAT reading and math.
Communication
skills between teachers, students and staff has been
clarified to all staff, prior to testing dates,
as to students testing site, (students have FCAT pre-tested in the same FCAT
location with the same
proctors) proctors, and all other pertinent
information to assist with a smoother transition from a normal school day to a
FCAT testing day.
Indicators
show that 87% of students tested 2006-2007; 2007 – 2008 96.7% of students to be
tested.
Saturday
tutorial has not been working. Other
schools have been offering tutorial after school day, with sports activities
delayed until

Publicity.

Restaurant will hold Syesha Mercado celebration. If

make it to the top 3, Booker High will hold a Pep Rally.

Lindsey, Attendance personnel retiring end of February. This position must be filled internally with
current personnel; waiver to hire is pending.
This position to be posted and filled at the beginning
of the 2008-2009 school years.
This is the
last year we will have senior grad night at Disney. Other theme parks for the future Grad Night
being considered art Universal Studios and
Islands
of Adventure.
