Establish SAC Meeting Dates:
Third Thursday of every month, 6:00 –
Motion approved.
SAC Mission: Ms. White-Davis stated that the SAC Committee would be the
primary deciding factor for expenditures of lottery school dollars,
approximately $15,000 with a current balance of $49,000. In
addition, the Sarasota County Union presented Booker High
School with $5000. $3600 of this fund will be used to purchase
a reading lab for our students, and the balance used to provide
additional learning tools and teaching resources.
SDMT committee to make suggestions for these expenditures.
Implementation of the following will assist with the success of this
goal:
A. Reading is the key factor to improve FCAT testing scores.
Intensive
B. Purchase of needed reading programs will assist teachers and
students.
C. FCAT re-testing provide additional points to BHS
scores. Staff will continue to encourage students to re-test.
D. Small Learning Communities and TAP will establish bonds
between teachers, students and improve parent communication.

several books, the most recent entitled “Nailed”. Ms. White-Davis
is concerned about the controversial language contents of this
publication. SAC Committee members to review book and
provide input to approve or deny speaker presentation on Booker
High campus.
