Booker High SAC Operational guidelines discussed in depth.
Revisions to By-Laws –
Article V: Delete “ Elementary students are not
required, but strongly encouraged.”
Quorum 51% in lieu of 2/3
SAC Composition increased to: no less than 12;
or more than 28
members
Article VI: Selection of members to be based on
demographics. Election process up for continued
discussion.
Article VIII: Membership voting
Change quorum 51% in lieu of 2/3 vote required
for SAC committee approval / adoption changes.
Changes to SIP will be affected by demographics of student population; revised By-Laws; data driven test results; needs assessments evaluations; staff professional
development; and the recommendations by the
Southern Association Re-Accreditation team. Staff Committees have been established to assist SAC with
Re-Accreditation issues and needs assessment.
BHS Student activities discussed: Homecoming Spirit Week, football
game, dress code; dance and security issues surrounding all events.
Parent Newsletter: The Twister is being published and distributed through independent
Printer who has volunteered funding this project.
State Equity Laws pamphlets were distributed and the School Board Policy Against
Discrimination for students was discussed. Included in this discussion were
Issues regarding student discipline policies – zero tolerance for harassment
Of any nature and for fighting on campus
