Bay Haven School of Basics Plus

Agenda Item #1: Money Request

Mary Jo Mundy requested $500.00 from SAC to fund bringing the Mote Marine Tank to Bay Haven. The $500.00 fee will allow all students to visit the tank. SAC approved the $500.00 request.

Agenda Item #2: Budget

Mr. Sprinkle presented the budget to SAC. All staff positions are status quo for next year. The only item that SAC needed to talk about is whether or not we are able to still do contracted services for Dee Schmidt, our Tech Coach. Each year we have submitted a waiver requesting our Tech Coach be contracted services (plan A). It will be up to the Landings if we can do this again next year. If our waiver is not approved, we will have to hire a full time Tech Coach that would have to be a School Board employee (plan B). Consensus was reached to go with plan A and then plan B.

Agenda Item #3: Uniforms

Deb Herbert talked to SAC about the ballot that was sent to parents asking whether or not they were for uniforms. The ballots did not show an overwhelming approval for uniforms, therefore SAC decided to put the uniform ballot on hold for 1 year.

Agenda Item #4: Mr. Sprinkle’s Replacement

Mr. Sprinkle told SAC that his last day at Bay Haven would probably be the last day of school for students. The School Board will be searching for his replacement next week. First chance goes out to Sarasota County Principals to see if they are interested in transferring to Bay Haven. If no principals are interested, the next search will go out to Sarasota County Assistant Principals and administrators from other counties.
