Time: 8:00 a.m.
Location: Media Center
Agenda Item #1: Uniforms
Our P.T.O. Executive Board
held their last meeting on February 13th. They invited parents to this meeting to
discuss the possibility of implementing uniforms at Bay Haven. Mr. Sprinkle attended this meeting and
discussed the outcome of the telephone survey that was made regarding
uniforms. 187 families voted --- 48%
were for uniforms --- 52% were against uniforms. In order for Bay Haven to go forward it
needs SAC will need to have members agree to be on a Uniform Committee from
the beginning until the end of this endeavor. They will need to give out information to
families (pros and cons of uniforms, cost of uniforms, etc.), take a vote
(a ballot type of vote that families members would come over sign a ballot
and place the ballot in a voting box), and then count the votes. The following SAC Members agreed to be on
the Uniform Committee: Laurie Brown,
Deb Herbert (both Bay Haven teachers), Beth Byron-Reasoner,
and Betty Weller (both Bay Haven parents).
Agenda Item #2: Request
for Money for Patrols Field Trip to The Water Park
Joyce Hinkle, Patrol
Co-Chairperson, requested that SAC fund the end of the year party for our
patrols to go to the Water
Park. This trip is a thank you for our fifth
grade patrols for all of their hard work during the year. Mrs. Hinkle requested $1,000 to cover the
cost of the busses and entrance into the Water Park. SAC granted the request.
Agenda Item #3: Request
for Money for a Wireless Microphone for our News By
The Bay Team
Mr. Lopez, our Technology
Aide, requested $429.00 for a wireless microphone for our News By The Bay news team.
This microphone could also be used for other school events. SAC granted the request.
Agenda Item #3: Changes
to the Parent Contract
- P.T.O.
Meetings Changes: It was
requested by parents to add to our P.T.O. notices going home to
families that only 1 parent needs to attend a P.T.O. meeting.
- Volunteer
Hours Changes: It was suggested
by parents that instead of dismissing a child three weeks after winter
recess, we change the time to the end of the 2nd grading

like to see the wording that families need to make sure they are
logged into our PALS Computer System.
