Agenda Item #1: Uniforms

Mr. Sprinkle did a telephone pole asking parents if they were for or against Bay Haven having uniforms. 218 parents were contacted, 60 parents did not vote, 165 parents did vote. Out of the voting, 48.5% of parents were for uniforms and 51.5% were against uniforms.

As per County Guidelines, 80% of families (with all families polled) must vote for uniforms to ratify the issue. We are going to turn this over to our P.T.O. Executive Board to decide how to handle this matter. Mr. Sprinkle will bring the County Guidelines to the Executive Baord Meeting covering what would need to be done to approve uniforms.

Agenda Item #2: Attendance

AS of last week, Bay Haven had 488 students that have been marked with Tardies. Forty-Eight families have over 10 Tardies with getting to school on time. This number is excessive. Three of our grade levels do the 90 minute Reading Blocks first thing each morning, we cannot have students coming in late and interrupting the students, as well as the teacher.

We are going to streamline our Parent / Student Contract Commitments so that every item is spelled out as to what actions will be taken when contract violations occur.

It was suggested that we have a mandatory meeting at the beginning of each school year for new families to go over the contract commitments.

Agenda Item #3: Purchase of Property Across the Street on Tamiami Circle

The School Board approved the purchase of the property. More information regarding this matter will be coming at a later date.
