Agenda Item #1:	Contract

SAC members were asked to read the Parent / Student Contracts and to discusses changes with other members at their tables. After tables reviewed their thoughts, Mr. Dunn asked the 4 different tables for their input. The following items were suggested for revisions to the contract:
•	We need teacher consistency with homework signing by parents.
•	We need to elaborate more on what is expected / allowed for attendance at the mandatory P.T.O. meetings.
•	Contract needs to be added in student binders/calendars with numbers added to contract items to use as reference numbers for violations.
•	Study Area category – since it is something that is not enforceable, we need to take it out of the contract and add it to the agenda at our P.T.O. meetings.
•	We might think about incorporating parts of the contract into our a.m. announcements (i.e. – Remember, you need to remain, quiet, orderly, and task oriented in the classroom today).
•	We need to go from classroom to classroom yearly to go over the Contract.
•	We need to incorporate a “Teacher Spot” at our P.T.O. meetings to talk about what is a “Proper” spot for students to use for completing homework.
•	Add to parent contract that they will have their child(ren) to school by 9:20 a.m. each morning, and I will have them remain in school until the 3:40 bell. It was also remarked that we should add (for those parents that use parent pick-up) that they will be here by 4:00 p.m. to pick-up their children.
•	We need to add to the student contract that the children sign that they will be responsible for turning in class work and homework on time.
•	Add to the student contract (as is in the parent contract) I will show, by my example, support for the standards of student conduct.
•	We need to add in the parent contract where it states “I will provide a written explanation of my child’s absence upon his/her return to school, that calling in is also allowed, not just writing a note.
•	We need to incorporate talking about and how to complete student “community involvement” in our P.T.O. meetings.
•	We need to have a dress code for parents (i.e. – no halter tops, no short-shorts, etc.)
•	Volunteer Hours: we need to be specific as to what is considered “Volunteer Hours” and what is not considered “Volunteer Hours”.
•	It was suggested that we put parent sign-in sheets in all classrooms. That way teachers can write down if the volunteer time was legitimate volunteer time or not.

Contract changes will be discussed at all future staff meetings, P.T.O. meetings, SAC meetings, and Team Leader meetings.
